Welcome, I'm Michael.

My path to Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy has been shaped by a unique professional background, including my time in the Royal Navy and extensive work as a prosthetist and orthotist for the NHS and with charities such as Handicap International overseas. My personal exploration into psychology began in 1991, sparked by my own experiences after returning from the Gulf War and discovering the transformative power of self-reflection and meditation. Now based in the stunning Peak District, I specialise in online hypnotherapy, committed to guiding clients as they navigate obstacles, achieve significant personal growth, and embrace their best possible lives.

 

Training, Qualifications & Accreditations

I trained with the  Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy school and graduated with an Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma accredited with the National Council for Hypnotherapy and diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (Clifton Practice).  I’m also a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a modern therapeutic approach that combines the principles of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) with hypnosis. It's gaining popularity for its effectiveness in helping people make positive, lasting changes in their lives.

Here are five reasons why SFH works:

1. Future-Oriented and Solution-Focused: Unlike some traditional therapies that delve deeply into past problems and their origins, SFH focuses on the present and, crucially, on the desired future. It helps clients identify what they want to achieve and then guides them in constructing a path towards that ideal future.

2. Harnesses the Power of the Subconscious Mind through Trance: Hypnosis, or "trance," in SFH is a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation. In this state, the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions and ideas. This allows for new, helpful neural pathways to be built and reinforced in the brain, making it easier for clients to adopt new perspectives, behaviors, and coping mechanisms without conscious effort or resistance.
